A Founding Note
We spend too much time making our tools work for us, and not enough time focused on the work itself. We move between apps, hunt through tabs, recreate context, and coordinate systems that were never designed to work together. The tools are often excellent; it is the space between them where work breaks down. The next step is software that understands our context, connects the pieces around us, and helps drive work forward without making us coordinate every step.
AI got better. Work didn’t.
AI has radically expanded what software can do, but much of that intelligence has been bolted onto existing apps, tabs, and workflows. Too often, it becomes another thing to give context, instruct, and manage. Some people already unlock extraordinary capabilities from AI, while many others experience only a fraction of what it can do. Adding AI to the old way of working is not enough. This is a chance to rethink the environment around work itself.
Make work human again.
As work moved from desks, to desktops, to apps, and eventually into dozens of browser tabs, we gained enormous capability but lost a lot of the structure, control, and personality of environments shaped around us. Software should give some of that back by handling more of the coordination, adapting to the person using it, and leaving more room for thinking, creating, deciding, and collaborating. It should have character too. Older software invited people to customize, explore, and play; modern software does not need to become sterile or interchangeable.
